...when you see yourself broadcast on Canadian national television.
Also this was easily the craziest, toughest rally I've ever done. 120 stage miles in a single day, 8 AM to midnight. Stages so twisty and with so many elevation changes that they gave a national champion driver motion sickness. 38 cars starting the rally and only 14 finishing. Ridiculous.

CRC is just like WRC, but more polite.

what car were you in?

Ford Fiesta with Danny Grant. He was being super cautious because he'd crashed out of the rally the past three years (including demolishing the car on the fifth corner of the first stage the previous year). He also crashed during testing two days before we left for the rally

It almost feels like there should be a North American rally championship.
Between the US, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean countries, there is a messload of awesome scenery.

There kinda is. There's the North American Rally Cup, which crowns a champion by taking your six best finishes in Rally America and the Canadian Rally Championship (but must include at least two events from each side of the border). The problem is not enough people run it to make it exciting.

I was thinking something more unified, like the European Championship.
An aside; the Canadians have a rally driver who happily goes by the moniker "Crazy Leo"? Oh, Canada...

I have no idea which one you are to be honest. Please tell me.
EDIT: NEVERMIND FOUND THE FIESTA

Nice. I would not be able to do what you're doing... I get sick as a passenger just reading a book on the freeway :)

I've been watching these. On one hand, you can see that he has the talent and the lack of fear.
On the other hand, I just want to yell "SAMIR" way more than I'm comfortable yelling.

Yeah, I'm lucky in that I don't get motion sickness easily. It's only happened to me once, when I was trying to read a small print novel (one of the Hunger Games trilogy to be exact) on my phone in a truck with blown front struts towing a 30 foot trailer. That was unwise.

Yeah, he's definitely skilled, definitely fast, and definitely brave. Despite his reputation he's getting cleaner though, which is good. He'll be contesting a R2 Fiesta in the WRC this year, starting in Portugal, which will be awesome

Wait. We have television???
I'd call bullshit but then I'd have to appologize.
Sorry for even mentioning it...I'll be in my igloo if anyones looking for me.

How was traffic riding your moose home from work?
And by "work" I of course mean salmon fishing and making syrup.

Damn that attrition. Maybe you finished because your pace notes were good!

Oh god no, pace notes were shit. The starting foundation wasn't Jemba-based like we're used to but just some random driver's notes, and his system was kinda weird. He left out some corners, put in others that were practically straights, and because we were trying to learn his system during recce we mis-noted a few spots. I know I made a few bad calls and got lost a couple times. Frankly I was disappointed with myself. I need to learn how to write from scratch.

I will have you know I ride a caribou pulled by geese (dog sled style natch). Moose are the Camry of Canada. You try finding a part for a 1982 CARIBOU at the local harpooned whale... its the brown diesel wagon of the nort,eh?
I had to wait for the annual seal hunt for new headlights once....
And I'm a poutine sorter/lumberjack. Fishing is for bears n the women folk.
Thats aboot it. Im going oot.

My boss talks about that area constantly. He was up there for a night rally last weekend ( or the one before)and buried his nose. Funny Video. Still had snow across the nose on monday too.
